Diamonds are still a girl’s best friend. Provided that the giver shows refinement, originality, and good taste. Or seeks advice from their trusted jeweler. Because a diamond is forever, we take our responsibility to advise you on a purchase very seriously, even after 20, 40, or even 50 years. We want you to be satisfied with the jewelry you purchased from Franssen.
Our Franssen Private Collection is designed by us and completely handcrafted in our own workshop. This makes us very flexible and allows us to design a piece of jewelry together with the customer. Our master goldsmith combines old with new techniques such as 3D printing to achieve a beautiful end result.
King among the gemstones
Emerald has been one of the most well-known and coveted gemstones for centuries and is considered the “king of gemstones.” Even Cleopatra was enchanted by this intensely green gemstone. Even thousands of years before Christ, emerald was already known and the gemstone was mined and used in jewelry and art objects.
Emerald is usually cut in an octagonal step-cut shape, the famous emerald cut. The gemstone is cut in this shape because it refers to the natural shape in which emerald grows in the earth. This specific cut is increasingly also used for cutting other gemstones, including diamonds. The straight lines in this cut give the ancient, classic emerald a modern look.
